The NG Kerk Hall was filled with festive cheer on Friday night as Greytonian families gathered for the annual Christmas in July Disco. From golden reindeers and Christmas jumpers to plenty of sparkle, the kids and families embraced the theme and danced the night away in support of a wonderful cause.
This year’s event supported Silverwood Waldorf Inspired School, with all proceeds from ticket sales going towards the school. Small, independent schools like Silverwood play an important role in our community, providing a nurturing and unique educational environment. They rely heavily on the generosity of the community, and by joining in the fun, Greyton once again showed its supportive community spirit.
Keeping the dance floor buzzing all evening was DJ Misha, who delivered a brilliant mix of classics, party favourites and sing-along hits that kept everyone moving from start to finish.
Thanks to the incredible support from the community, a grand total of R17,300 has been raised to date, with raffle tickets still available until 31 July, giving everyone another chance to contribute to this worthy cause.
A special thank you goes to Marinda and her wonderful team for organising such a fun, family-friendly evening, and to all the volunteers who made the event such a success.
Events like these remind us what makes Greyton so special – a community that comes together to support one another while having a great time.
Here’s to another fantastic Christmas in July.
