At the beginning of 2025, thanks to the generosity of our wonderful supporters, GAWS found itself in a position to breathe new life into the much-loved Greyton Kennels. Located on land leased from the local municipality (TWK), these kennels have served the community well for many years — and now it’s time for a fresh chapter.
The first key steps were to secure a long-term lease, finalise architectural plans, and award the building tender — all successfully completed by June 2025. Construction officially begins in July, with a target completion date of the end of October 2025.
What’s in Store?
The revamp will include:
- 12 brand-new dog runs for comfort and shelter
- Three secure play areas where dogs can socialise
- A beautiful, modern cattery for our feline friends
- A fully refurbished hospital wing to support animal health and wellbeing
