Jaco Kruger is the maker behind Mycoherb, a range of functional mushroom products featuring Lion’s Mane, Reishi and Turkey Tail.
These are functional foods or food supplements and shouldn’t be confused with psilocybin or psychoactive mushrooms. Instead, each variety is traditionally used for different wellness purposes: Lion’s Mane for cognitive clarity and focus, Reishi for immune support and calming, restorative relaxation, and Turkey Tail for supporting gastrointestinal health.
What makes Jaco’s products particularly interesting is the process behind them. Mycoherb uses a spagyric triple-extraction process, which incorporates the mushroom’s mineral salts alongside other extracted compounds, with the aim of improving potency and bioavailability.
Jaco also takes the responsibility of producing wellness products seriously. Every Mycoherb product carries SAHPRA-compliant disclaimers, dosage guidance and transparent ingredient information, so customers know exactly what they’re buying and how it should be used.
And they’re local too! The mushrooms used by Mycoherb are sourced from a producer in Grabouw, making this another wonderful example of an Overberg product supporting an Overberg producer.
We’re delighted to welcome Jaco and Mycoherb to The Greyton Collective — come in, discover the range and learn a little more about the fascinating world of functional mushrooms.
